Every air conditioner comes with an energy label is mandatory for all appliances, indicating its class energy efficiency, calculated as the ratio between energy output and electricity consumption for cooling (EER) or heating (COP).
The energy efficiency class is expressed in a scale from A to G. The letter A indicates the lowest consumption, the letter G the highest consumption and intermediate consumption of the other points.
Buying a low-power device results in a slightly higher initial cost, which should be seen as a long-term investment, given the savings on electricity consumption that is capable of generating over the years.
